The Crescent Theatre

The Crescent Youth Theatre

The Crescent Youth Theatre Company is for young people between the ages of 14 to 18 that have a passion for theatre arts. It is for young actors to develop their skills in performance, learn new techniques and work with other young people that have an enthusiasm for acting.

The season is made up of both workshops and production projects, encouraging the young actors to explore acting techniques through performance, but also explore new techniques such as voice skills, physical theatre, devising and approaching scripts, to name but a few.

The CYT is lucky to be based with The Crescent Theatre where they can work (and learn) alongside the different departments of a working theatre. Building upon the success of 2013's production of Blood Brothers, the CYT recently performed William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream to sell-out audiences.

The company is going from strength to strength so watch this space for more news on our plans for the 2014/15 season.
