The Crescent Theatre is a not for profit charity and receives no funding, therefore, we must raise any money we need for the upkeep of the building ourselves. As a local community theatre we have become an important part of the local arts scene over the course of the last 100 years, not only to present our own productions but also to offer our facilities to a host of local groups to stage their productions. Keeping the Crescent alive is vital and we have established close links with various organisations to ensure that they have an affordable venue to perform in.
The Lights Must Go On – Donate in support of the Crescent
One of the most important parts of creating the atmosphere of a play is the lighting. Theatrical lighting uses huge amounts of electricity when compared to domestic lighting. We want to migrate to more energy efficient lighting technologies to help lower both our costs and our environmental impact. Doing so is hugely expensive, with an individual light costing upwards of £1000. This is where you can help. By donating to our The Lights Must Go On campaign, you will help us replace our old lighting equipment and replace it with modern equipment, lower our cost and environmental impact.
